PDP govs congratulate Mark (former senate president), Aidoko, others on their victory at re-run elections held on 20th February, 2016
Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party have described the victory of former President of the Senate, David Mark, in the Benue-South senatorial rerun election as a testament of his service to the people of the Idoma nation and Nigeria.
The governors also hailed the election Senator Attai Aidoko in the Kogi-East senatorial rerun and all PDP lawmakers that emerged in Taraba state.
In a statement by the chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, signed by Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, coordinator of the forum, the governors said the elections were a confirmation of the faith of Nigerians in the party.
“The PDP Governors Forum commends the good people of Idoma nation for resisting every act of violence and rascality by voting for an individual that means well for them and can serve them better.The statement said, “We congratulate a leader and gallant soldier of democracy as the people of Benue-South Senatorial district demonstrated that the past elections of Mark have never been a fluke.
“We also congratulate Senator Attai Aidoko and all those who emerged as winners in the rerun. Your victories are testimonies that the PDP remains formidable and we will build on these victories in our service to the people.”
The governors expressed the hope that the Senate would gain a lot with the return of Mark given his deep legislative experience.
Also, the National Chairman of the party, Sen. Sheriff, congratulated Mark on his victory.
He said that the election had shown that Mark remained popular among his people.
